As we finish up our thank you letters from an amazing event we want to share some of the great news from our December 3rd, Welcome Aboard benefit. The evening was hosted at Christie’s and made possible with generous, early support from The Tiffany & Co. Foundation, Christie’s, Hinckley, and The Helmsley Charitable Trust.

The evening featured 3 honorees; Dr. Jane Lubechennco, distinguished marine ecologist, environmental scientists, and Undersecretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and Administrator of NOAA. Sir Russell Coutts, most successful skipper in the history of the America’s Cup, and Charlie Rose, host of “CBS This Morning”, “Person to Person”, and “Charlie Rose”, the nightly PBS program.

A live auction was also held, thanks to many wonderful in-kind donations, along with a paddle raise, giving money directly to our ocean conservation programs, Clean Regattas and Rainy Day Kits. The auction also raised money to allow us to give water filtration systems to community sailing programs affected by hurricane sandy.
We would like to thank our many generous Chairs, Sponsors, and supporters for making a truly spectacular evening possible. The evening raised over a year’s budget, setting a course for success in 2013.
